hot heat

its monday afternoon. it feels likei have been here much longer and i can only imagine what its going to feel like after a month. i have freinds here that are french so its great because we can speek french together and nobody understands!
This girl Lizzie made a good point that you are using so many senses and its so hot that by the end of the day you are so exahusted. except its hard to sleep because of the heat. i dont feel like i am sleeping heavy eaither because the slitest noise or anything wakes me up. maybe my brain things i am in danger. Lizzie and I spent the whole day wandering around Delhi. We had drank like 3 liters of water by the afternoon and didnt have to pee. it all comes out of our sweat. there is a girl that hadnt poo'd for a whole week but that is because the food isnt... well its rice and curry - no meat and very little bread.
Lizzie and i evtualy had to go into any restuarnt that had air conditioning and i ordered 2 cokes cause we werent getting enough sugar.
there is a mouse in our room and a lizard. before i left to come here the water backed up in both bathrooms of mostly toilet water. the arangments are very nice though and its like a girls dormatory cause there are now about 12 girls sharing 3 rooms and two bathrooms but we get by fine so far.
i need to by a journal to remember all this stuff.
anyway no photos because i didnt bring a cord but i dont have a cord anyway cause i just put the memory stick in my computer.
there is so much to say but its hard cause it would be better said in person.
i am glad its only one month though. some of these girls are doing it for like 3 months! but i think i am actually getting used to the heat...
everyone stares at us and we have been followed many times.. some girls are even asked to be in photos of complete strangers. the white skin is rare here. they said i would get a lot because i am blonde which is more rare.
i wiped my face yesterday cause of the sweat and the tissue was all dirty.
ok blech
its hot
this internet place is like an aquarium shop

Your blogs are all about the heat! It's hard to think if it's so hot. It's also hot to do anything other than lie in the shade very very still and drink cold drinks. I hope you soon have some amazing experiences! Will you get to do some traveling around India at all - like go to the countryside or to some temples or something and get away from the crowds? It must be even hotter in the cities. Can't wait to see your photos. Take care there. My friend went to Egypt a few years ago with her boyfriend and men would rub up against her and stare and she was very uncomfortable. However, having said that, she also went to Morocco and Lybia and people were fantastic there. I think that in any huge city, especially as big as Delhi, you need to be street smart and alert. But I hope you meet some great people and do some unforgettable things there. Love you!

What a treat to get two postings in two days! I can't imagine having to function in temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Hopefully someone will be taking care of you? and giving you good advise about dealing with the heat and thirst. Be careful not to drink anything but bottled water! No tap water or ice cubes. My friend who has spent a lot of time in India filtered her water and was very careful, but still got these nasty things called ameoba (parasites) that lodged in her liver and made her sick and took years to get rid of. That said, enjoy every day of this amazing time in your life. Love you, a.
